About Us.

Twifu Rural Youth and Women Concern (TRYAWCO) for short is a rural based grassroots development organization. It was founded in June 1997 and was incorporated on August 24, 1998 as a Non-Governmental organization. Our organization is also registered with the Department of Social Welfare for recognition as a Private Voluntary Organization in Ghana. 
 
Our mission: Is to initiate programmes and activities that shall give economic empowerment to our Youth and Women, programmes that shall enhance quality education and health, promote the rights of Women and children, raise the level of general environmental sanitation and food production in our project area.

Present activities: Our present activities are geared towards the promotion of basic human rights of women and children, preventive health education including environmental sanitation, Youth and Women empowerment activities including Microfinance and increase access to clean water and good hygiene.
 
Our project area: Is Twifu Hemang Lower Denkyira District in the Central Region of Ghana. It has a population of about 116,874 comprising of 57,624 males and 59,250 females (2010) census report, about 51.36% are 18 years and above. The current population growth rate in the District is 4.1 % which is higher than the corresponding regional growth rate of 3.1% and the national growth rate of 2.5%. This implies that the population density for the district, which is growing steadily over the past few years, is projected at 140,834 by the end of 2015. The district is typically a rural one with a landmass of 1,199qs. Km. The People are mainly subsistence farmers growing food crops and cash crops like cocoa and oil palm to make their living.  Our activities are targeted to benefit the rural poor especially the unemployed Youth, marginalized Women and disadvantaged children in the 168 communities of our project area.
